Shadow of the Almighty

Sitting in mandated quarantine back in Singapore this morning, returning with my family after 2 years in the States for my PhD studies, God has been reminding me of His sovereignty and protection, especially throughout the Covid pandemic (since early 2020).

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!”
For it is He who delivers you from … the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His pinions,
And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield & bulwark.

No other gods | Exodus 7-11

No other gods (Ex. 7.14-11.10)

That you may know that:

  1. God is significant (knowledge, love).
  2. God is supreme (power).
  3. God is sovereign (in control).

But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you My power and that My name might be proclaimed in all the earth. (Ex. 9.16)

The God who Purifies & Purges (Dan. 11)

1. Struggles between kings (v1-20)
2. The climactic king (v21-35)
3. The king who exalts himself (v36-45)
In spite of present circumstances, God is in control and will win the day – the wicked and the godly will each get their ultimate due.
